No. Underground utilities are self-performed — our crews, our equipment, our licenses. That’s the point: when the same contractor controls the sitework and the underground package, the critical path doesn’t slip waiting on someone else’s schedule.

South Carolina is specific about this. A Tier 1 installer may install gravity-fed residential systems only, and is not authorized to conduct repairs on existing systems at all. Tier 2 adds pumps, grease traps, curtain drains, elevated and mounded systems, and every commercial, large, and community onsite wastewater system — plus repairs. That is the South Carolina license line commercial work sits on, and most residential installers don’t hold it. Tier 1, 2, and 3 are a South Carolina classification, so on a job across the line we work under that state’s onsite program instead — we hold licensing in all three.

We run out of Easley, so the Greenville area is home ground and most weeks our iron never leaves it. Past that we work the whole tri-state — upstate South Carolina, western North Carolina, and northeast Georgia — and we are licensed in all three, which matters because the permitting path changes the moment you cross a line.
